ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

Can I visit Cappadocia any time of the year?
Yes, you can. Museums are open every day all year round, and there are tours and balloon flights (due the weather conditions) every day too. During Ramadan most restaurants are open.
How can I get to Cappadocia?
Fly: A quick 1 hour and 15 minute flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) to Kayseri Cappadocia Airport (ASR) is the fastest way to get to Cappadocia by plane. Be sure to reserve the shuttle both ways through your hotel prior to traveling. Bus: You could also take an overnigh bus (10-12 hours) from Istanbul to Nevşehir. Turkish buses are a clean, safe and reliable form of transportation.
Which airport is best? Kayseri or Nevsehir?
You can choose either airport, whichever is best for your flights. Nevsehir is a little closer only 30 minutes to our hotel. Kayseri is a little further 1 hour but we are one of the first drops. If you don’t want to pay a large taxi fare, please book a shuttle bus or private transfer with us before you travel.
What are some of the things I can do there?
Cappadocia has history, nature, adventure and culture. For centuries, people have lived, worked, and worshipped amongst its rocky landscapes. There are underground cities, rock churches, cave villages, and sprawling valleys. Tourists oftentimes prefer the calmer shops in Cappadocia to the hectic stores of Istanbul. Turkish carpets, pottery, local wine, and hand made goods are all popular items to buy.
What is the weather like in Cappadocia?
Cappadocia has four very clear seasons, each with special associations for Cappadocians: In summer, especially in August, the hottest temperatures can reach 35 degrees Celsius , but there is a cooler breeze to offset the heat. In addition, humidity is low, so it is cooler in the shade. As the world’s weather is changing, the air seems to be getting cooler in Cappadocia, which means that even in late spring and early autumn, evenings can be cool enough to require a cardigan or light jacket. Winter, especially January, can be very cold with snow followed by sunny but cold days. All days are suitable for tours, museums are open every day, and if you are lucky enough to be here in the snow the countryside looks awesome.
